Why do you want to serve as a leader of the College?

As an Associate Professor of Epidemiology with extensive international field experience, I am passionate about advancing the field of epidemiology and fostering collaboration among professionals. I wish to serve as a leader of the College to contribute my diverse expertise, promote innovative research, and mentor the next generation of epidemiologists. My goal is to help ACE continue its mission of promoting the professional development of epidemiologists and the use of epidemiology in addressing public health issues. 

What are your qualifications and experiences that will help you in service as a leader?

My qualifications include:

- PhD in Epidemiology/Biostatistics and current position as Associate Professor at North Dakota State University

- Extensive field experience as an epidemiologist with WHO, UNICEF, and NGOs in over 40 countries across Africa, Middle East, and Central Europe

- Strong research background with 200+ publications and 35,000+ citations

- Leadership experience in academic and international settings

- Current involvement in ACE committees, providing insight into the College's operations and needs

These experiences have honed my leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, which will be valuable in serving as a leader of the College. 

How have you been involved in the College in the past?

My involvement with the American College of Epidemiology includes:

- Current Co-Chair of the Publication Committee

- Active member of the Awards Committee

- Editorial Board, Annals of Epidemiology

- ACE Editor for the Annual ACE Conference 2024

- Regular participation in ACE conferences and events

- Contribution to ACE's publications and initiatives
